For most of us, it is easier to manage our work life than our personal life. Work life usually has more built in constraints, obligations, focus and pressure. If you sit spinning in your chair in anxiety, your boss might not find you productive. Personal life is often far messier, with toys and dishes and stuffed pantries and too many varied things to do.
So remember the home motto of my dear old golfing buddy, Warren Tanner: “As often as you can, be gentle.”
Nobody can do it all. And, for sure, nobody can do it all perfectly. Especially at home.
