When someone hurts your feelings, you think that you are either thinking well despite your feelings or feeling super accurately about the situation. Either way you think you are SO RIGHT. I’ve tested this situation time and time again. 96% of the time I assess the situation and give myself time to recover from overwhelmed feelings or my superior self-right status. 99% of the time I discover that my thoughts are not thoughts and they are certainly not right. 99% of the time I discover that my feelings are 62% inaccurate.
When the sh*t hits the fan, what we think and feel in response is often sh*t!!
And then, running uncontrolled, what we have is two fans and two piles of sh*t.
